She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting and raising chickens. She was a 70 plus year member of the New Salem United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. Mildred and husband, Cecil, owned and operated the Ervin Grocery Store in New Salem, IL for many years. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1988. She married Cecil Ervin on Septemin New Canton, IL. Born Januin Hadley Township, near Barry, IL, she was a daughter to John and Ethel Burdick Butler.
